Convenient Healthcare

Thankful. Day 11.

First, thank you to our veterans. Without you life as we know it wouldn’t be possible.

Next, I am grateful for the modern medical conveniences we have in this country. Yesterday I scratched my eye (or maybe eye lid). It was terrible but is rapidly improving. A googled search and consult with a nurse and it was determined it probably didn’t need to be seen by a doctor. We swung by our local Walgreens and $7 later I have an eye patch (to rest my eye and to practice being a pirate).

Even today, many people in our country still do not have easy access to Walgreens (or similar pharmacies). One of the perks of living in town is that we have many options (there is literally and Walgreens and CVS across the street from each other).

There was a time, not too long ago, that I would have toughed it out rather than spend the money. $7 is a lot when you are teetering on the edge. I am grateful that we are not there at this moment.
