I have been s.l.o.w.l.y. moving my way towards a major lifestyle change. I have added more vegetables and reduced processed foods. I have increased my activity level. I have read books and watched horrifying documentaries on Netflix. I go to bed early.
I am not one to dive into something new, and I hate starting things I can’t finish. I have an overwhelming fear of not following through. Commitment is hard. Baby steps.
I am currently reading “It Starts With Food” by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. Of course it is based on the Whole 30 diet – which is a little too extreme for me. However, the book is very well written. It is actually explaining the science of how the body works in a way I can understand. Most of it is still too technical and I forget it almost immediately. However, it is confirming my next step in my journey towards getting healthy.
Next week I am taking the next step to taking control of my health and reducing the inflammation that plagues me every. single. minute. I am doing a 10 day metegenics detox. I thought about it a year ago but I wasn’t ready. I considered Whole30 or Keto, but I know I wont be able to finish. I hate the idea of drinking shakes every day. But… I am finally ready for a change. Wish me luck 🙂
